About Me

Cooking was first introduced to me by my grandmother: cutting up salads, decorating them, help her with pickles, making chutnies and going to bakeries with her to order home made cookies. Cooking became more enjoyable for me, as I grew older. It started out with Lamb curry and slowly progressed into cakes, coffee, cutlets, vegetables and biryanis.

After marriage we went out of India all the way to Cambodia. The biggest gathering I saw in Cambodia was in our offices colleagues house. The food was made by one single lady of the house with more then ten dishes with at least two sweet-dishes. That was a different life experirence as well as a series of compulsive tensions : Would I be able to serve my table in such a elegant manner and sumptuous cuisine. After some time, my husband called invited many people to our house and that was the beginning of my Kitchen success.

Food is not only cooking or taste, the manner in which it is presented is sometimes more important then the dish itself. I have learned many dishes from various countries and that too I have developed it into many easy techniques. If I dont have the ingredients I usually come up with my own theories. Even after all these years, I have still yet to learn the simple art of making Chai (tea) and Roti.

Have fun cooking,
